Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel // A review

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel // A review

As a first review I would like to talk about this highly praised cleanser by Oskia, an award-winning British brand. I'm sure that if you follow some of the British YouTubers (CarolineAnna and Suzie, just to mention a few), you may have heard of this.

Bear with me if you want the know what all the fuss is about.

What it claims to be:

A new generation non-foaming cleansing gel-to-oil that melts into skin to quickly and gently remove impurities and makeup while actively illuminating and nourishing to reveal balanced, clean, fresh, radiant skin that feels soft and smooth. Wonderfully rich in vitamins and enzymes.

What it is: a luxurious orangey gel cleanser that comes in an elegant plastic white bottle and in a single pump provides the right amount of product that you need.

What it claims to do:

Deeply cleanses pores, removes makeup and daily grime, thoroughly removes dull and dead skin cells without irritation for a balanced complexion, improves the appearance of sun damaged, dry and mature skin to reveal soft, supple texture, fortifies and protects the skin against free radical & environmental damage, improves elasticity & firmness, enhances the lipid barrier to soften and nourish.

What it has insideVitamin A Palmitate, Vitamins C & E, Fermented Pumpkin Enzymes, Starflower Oil, Vitamin B² & Magnesium and much more.

Pretty ambitious for a cleanser, right?

What it does: I've never used this cleanser to take off my makeup as I think it would be a great waste to only use it this way. I have used it throughout recent months either as a morning cleanser or a second cleanser (if you don't know what a second cleanser is, we'll get to that later on the blog, I promise). I only ever apply it on dry skin and massage for a minute or so on my face. The texture is more like an oil, doesn't foam and doesn't roll on your face. I must say it really feels luxurious and you will enjoy cleansing your skin with it. When I have more time I let it sit on my face for a few minutes while I make myself a cup of tea or make the bed; considering the price and the rich ingredients it contains, you should let your skin get the most out of it. I take it off using a warm, damp flannel, that way there is no residue left. After that my skin feels great, not dry and perfectly cleanbrighter and healthier, dare I say! ORCG claims to be for all skin types, but just so you know, I have combination skin, slightly oily on my nose and dry on my cheeks.

Price:  100 ml, £28 or around 30€ on beautybay (where I bought mine). Certainly an expensive product.

Overall judgement: I cannot recommend this product enough, it is the best cleanser I have ever tried so far and nothing has ever felt so good on my skin. It is an investment as the price is high and I can totally see why people wouldn't like to spend this money on a cleanser. But let me say a few things in favour of Oskia: first, my bottle lasted me around 6 months (quite a while!) and second, cleansing is the most important part of any skincare regimen, so your money is better spent on something like this than, say, a moisturiser. Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel did make my skin look better and cleaner.

Have a good day!

*I purchased Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel with my own money. I have been testing this product on my skin for more than 6 months. This is my honest and unconditional review. Nevertheless, keep in mind that everyone's skin is different and something that works for me may not necessarily work for you in the same way.
